I am honored to have been asked to feature at the Rhino READS! series at Brothers K in Evanston, IL.  The event will be on Friday, September 24. More information to follow!

Also, I will be featuring at Cafe Ballou on December 20 as part of the Waiting 4 the Bus Monday reading series. 7:30 Open Mic sign up - great coffeeshop and fun people, so come relax and hear some poetry.

Some more good news. Up the Staircase Quarterly has accepted my flash fiction piece "Excuse" as one of the featured pieces for their August challenge. Watch for it soon!

Okay, qarrtsiluni has offically accepted two pieces for The Crowd issue - my poem "The Incredible Corpse Dormitory" (which is a bit of a style departure for me) and a prose piece "The Seas Between Us." I do love this journal for several reasons - it publishes continuously (new content almost daily) and always provides audio of the poets reading their work. They are also available as podcasts on iTunes. And (sorry, not done yet), the interpretations of their themes are always diverse and intriguing. I will let you know when the two pieces are posted.

Bestiary Magazine is now available from Magcloud!  See the blog or home page for a button that will take you straight to the digital preview - then buy a copy. It's gorgeous!

Just got word that qarrtsiluni editors have accepted one of my poems (and maybe a prose piece) for their upcoming themed issue called "The Crowd." I love the work that they do, so I am super-excited to have placed work there again.

There is a new magazine out of Chicago (from some of the folks who bring you The Encyclopedia Show) called Bestiary. It will be a monthly journal, each one with a theme, published on demand through Magcloud. The first issue will be out in July, and the first theme is animals. My poem "Kindred" will be featured in the inaugural issue. Here is a picture of the cover with art by Elizabeth TresCosas.

Still waiting for poems to appear in the Summer issues of OVS Magazine and River Oak Review. While I am waiting...more good news!  One of my photos was accepted for publication in The Furnace Review this summer.

05/23/10

Two poems are now in the current issue of Schuylkill Valley Journal - "Mowing the Lawn" and "Study Hall Sluts."  Keep watching qarrtsiluni for my poem "The Monsters Receive their Briefing on Millenium Park" - the poem and its audio file will be on the website sometime in the next month and a half as well as in their podcasts available on iTunes.

Boxcar Poetry Review's new anthology is now available on Lulu.com. My poem "Of Dark, Of Light" is included in the anthology. Editor Neil Aitken has a knack for choosing really interesting poets, and I am proud to be a part of the endeavor.

04/13/10

Good news from OVS Magazine - my poems "Refuting Evolution" and "O Death" will be published in their spring issue and also in their summer anthology.

Follow my poem-a-day progress at Put Words Together: Make Meaning. I will keep poems live for about a week before taking them down. The first five (written on vacation - I am dutiful, if nothing else) are posted now.

Check out the new "trailer" for my chapbook - many thanks to Kelli Russell Agodon (who blogs at Book of Kells) for the idea. It features Tim Venchus's photos - see what you think - and then visit the chapbook page to get ordering information!

My review/response to Molly Gaudry's Anatomy for the Artist, an online chapbook from Blossombones, is live today on my blog. This response is a stop on ReadWritePoem's Virtual Book Tour for Molly's chap. Check it out at Put Words Together, Make Meaning.

Presales for Womb/Seed/Fruit are in full swing with one minor setback. We have to change the cover art! (Too much black, evidently.) So the wonderful and talented Tim Venchus is hard at work on a concept that will be easier to print - don't let that stop you from buying your presale copy today! Tim's new work will be just as beautiful.

My poem "Early Morning: Electric" was featured on the Accents Radio show in Lexington, Kentucky today with host Katerina Stoyklova-Klemer. Listen to the show on her site under "Radio" for February 19th.
